Brighter days are a coming...

As we enter the midwinter phase of the wheel turning, I love to look outside and watch as new life springs forth every day. When I have my daily lunchtime scroll of social media, I find myself a little bewildered by the amount of bad feelings toward the season of winter. As a writer, I find myself utilising this time of cold, dark, wet days by reflecting on all the experiences, places, events, and inspiration that happened during the brighter days of spring, summer, and autumn, and writing them into a new story. In fact, I love wintering (even though we live in an ancient, cold, draughty house which costs a fortune to heat) because I find myself in the same situation as Mother Nature herself. Using this time, to recharge, rest, reflect and look forward to the brighter days ahead.

After the excitement, chaos, and expense of the festive season, understandably, many people find themselves in a period of melancholy, the darkest of days amplifying those feelings, I was once one of those, however, since I began my newfound love, namely writing and embarked on a reconnection to nature, my perspective has changed massively and now I find myself embracing all of the seasons and what they have to offer.

So no matter how miserable the weather, I now look forward, because following every storm is a beautiful rainbow…..
